Summertime yoga!

Yoga will be offered this week in Mirrormont on Monday evening, June 7, at 7:30 in the Clubhouse. Bring your ideas for summer class times; I will be available to teach a morning or noon class after June 17.

I am also excited to be offering a workshop on Ayurveda, the sister science of yoga, on June 19 at Terra Yoga in Issaquah.

The goal of Ayurveda is to live in balance with nature and her changing seasons. We will study how to reconnect with nature and her summer bounty and learn pleasant, healing rituals for different times of the day. We will learn how to: wake up refreshed and open to summer's offerings, eliminate cravings, stay cool and energized throughout the day, rest in the heat of the day, wind down slowly, and sleep well. The workshop will include a fun and simple test to determine your body type or dosha. Soothing daily rituals, healing herbs and teas, affirmations and an exercise/yoga/meditation plan to balance your dosha in summer will be studied. Aromatherapy and music therapy will be explored and recipes for Ayurvedic dishes that are balancing, elegant, deeply emotionally satisfying and that exploit the abundant offerings of our delicious Pacific Northwest local produce will be provided. As summer unfolds, with all of its warmth and excitement, our bodies and minds seek a cool oasis.

Bring a sense of quiet joy to your life with a yoga practice specifically designed for summer's gifts and challenges. Learn how to savor summer's harvest as you reawaken your body, mind, and spirit and find harmony with nature. Enhance your yoga practice by embracing the principles of Ayurveda!

Blessings,
